ANTWERP

From Rotterdam to Antwerp, it takes one hour and a little with my friend, Armand's cool driving. This time should be the shortest as he makes full use of a car compared to the ordinary drive.
In Antwerp, Armand says there had been a big agressive club with a floor swinging up and down. It ended up the owner being arrested for possession of drugs.

Anyway, Antwerp is now a city for fashion, alternative to diamond.
Without being polished, both stay rough.
Here you can find Mode Museum and also the incubation gallery "Discipline-JAP".
Both started in September 2002. The owner of JAP is Take Hirakawa. We, assistant, assist the launch. The gallery is for young designers to perform their works. It also aim to promote the exchange between young creators and society.

ロッテルダムからアントワープへは、友人アモンの運転で1時間と少し。
アモンは普通の人よりフルに車を走らせるから、たぶんこれが最速だろう。
アントワープにはこの間まで、フロアが上下にふわふわ動く攻撃的で巨大なクラブがあったというが、
大麻取締法違反でオーナーが捕まってしまったとかで閉鎖している。

さて、ダイヤモンドに代わり、アントワープはすっかりファッションの町になっている。
2002年9月の Mode Museum オープンに合わせ、Take Hirakawa のインキュベーションギャラリイ "Discipline-JAP" がスタートした。assistant も立ち上げをお手伝いしている。JAP は、若いデザイナーの作品発表や知的交流の場として設けられたスペースで、目印は、朱色に塗られた窓枠。
